Seven years of river walkways. Seven weeks of staying up all night.

30 Photos in 30 Days (Day 10)

One of the wonderful things about being in Sacramento is you are two hours away from the beach and two hours away from the mountains. We also have a ton of rivers that wind through Sacramento down to the Delta.

In celebration of our upcoming trips home, Joelle and I went to Swabbies on the River.  The whole place has an island feel from the dirt parking lot to the wooden decks to the surf boards to even a boat filled with flowers.

They usually have a  band rocking out, and you can see and hear the Sacramento River rushing behind boats parked at the restaurant.

We grabbed a beer and sat at a wooden picnic table under the shade of one of the umbrellas. We ordered some yummy tacos. The  shells are fried and they sprinkled parmesan over the whole meal.

After that, I headed to work, and Miss Lauren and I went to Starbucks and took a couple of snapshots. She got one of those delightful cake pops, and it looked so tasty.

This morning, I stopped by the SPCA Thrift Store (by far my favorite in Sacramento) and picked up a new denim dress for $5! I just fell in love and can’t wait to grab a leather belt I have in St. Louis that will go perfectly with it.

There are few things that feel as delightful as wearing a new dress for the first time. It pretty much made me feel giddy all day. Thanks to Lauren for the pics.

How do you add spice to your days?
