It’s not always roses and rainbows
I’ve recently decided it is fun to do things with friends that have traditionally been reserved for couples. I had a good time observing Valentine’s Day with my friend Shannon in Ohio. And this past weekend, I had a blast celebrating the anniversary of Miss Lauren and I’s love.
We went on our first road trip last spring to the Delta, a collection of historic towns along a whole bunch of rivers. From there, we have been on many trips exploring the wonderful things California has to offer.
So it only felt right to head to the Delta again to have a picnic and celebrate the start of spring and our lovely friendship. Lauren, of course, brought Sara because we always include her when we can on our adventures. We were feeling touristy.
We went on a picnic, which is where I got the title for this blog post. We have been talking about a picnic for weeks and had a vision of the cutest park. Instead it was chilly, kind of muddy and wet, and the park we found was a school yard surrounded by chain link fences. But we made the best of it and still had a delightful picnic anyway.
I’m really in love with these delicious apple bars from Trader Joe’s Cereal Bar.
